The Naverezhskoye Lake

The nature monument is located within the boundaries of the municipal area "Sorokinskaya volost" of the Dedovichi district. A unique, irreplaceable, distinctive, hilly-morainic landscape, a habitat for waterfowl and waterbirds with a rich and unique vegetation, which has a scientific and aesthetic value.

The floral complex of the nature monument "Lake Navegezhskoe" is formed by water, coastal-water, as well as meadow and forest higher plants growing within the protected zone. It includes 281 species, 167 genera and 60 families. Among the terrestrial vertebral species the most interesting are such as the Great Bittern, the Common Goldeneye, the Eurasian Water Shrew. In the lake immediate vicinity live the European Honey Buzzard, corncrakes, white-backed woodpeckers, badgers.

The area of the natural monument is 213 hectares.

It was declared a specially protected natural area of regional importance in 2007.
